Good morning Rev, What you are saying is indeed what many people think is a difference between atheism and agnosticism. However, I have read many books and heard many a talk by atheists. I do not recall any of them claiming there is absolutely no god. Some will place the odds at far less than 1% but as free thinkers who desire truth, it is an issue that is impossible for anyone to know with an absolute certainty. By definition, we require evidence and while we see no evidence, we realize we do not have all knowledge.

THUS, again by definition, an “agnostic” concedes he/she is not convinced in any one of the many “gods”, are no different than atheists. It would seem that in the very unlikely event that some some sort of spiritual being have evolved/mutated somewhere in the universe, that it either has no knowledge or concern about or earth or is one with no power or goodness.
